People with hearing loss often struggle to keep track of changes in busy, multi-directional sound scenes. I designed the first paradigm to measure this across the full 3D sound field, combining behaviour and EEG. It has since led to a funded PhD studentship, follow-on papers with hearing-impaired listeners, and tests of how beamforming hearing aids affect awareness of sounds around you.
